Homelessness

Stanley's friend, Zero, was homeless before he arrived at Camp Green Lake. From your research you will learn as much as you can about homelessness and respond to the following:

Is homelessness a problem in our community (Bath-Brunswick area)?

What do you think it would be like to be homeless?

How can you help the homeless in your community? Your task is to come up with a way to help the homeless in the Bath-Brunswick area. Some possibile ideas are to organize a school based food drive for a homeless shelter or collect other possible items that are needed.

Bullying
Stanley was bullied before he arrived at Camp Green Lake and even while he was at camp.
From your research on bullying you will be able respond to the following:

What is bullying?

Have you ever been bullied? How did that make you feel? Have you ever bullied someone else? How do you think that made them feel?

What can you do stop bullying from occuring in your school? Your task is to come up with ways to teach the kids in this school about bullying. Some ideas are: write and perform a play, create a movie or podcast, or develop a media campaign.

Illiteracy

Zero could not read and asked Stanley to teach him how to read.
