Process
Part I
You will each be assigned to a team.
- Each team will have four (or five) members.
Your team will be assigned one of the following parts to research.
- Agriculture/Cuisine
- Government
- Religion (Philosophy)
- Career/Jobs
- Technology
You and your team will research the assigned parts using the following resources.
1. Agriculture/Cuisine
2. Government
3. Religion (Philosophy)
- Greek Religion
- Greek Mythology
- Greek Philosophy
- Chinese Religion
- Chinese Philosophy
- Religion/Philosophy in China
4. Career/Jobs
5. Technology
- Greek Technology
- Chinese Technology
- Domestic & Industrial Technology in China
- Inventions, Innovations, and Other Contributions from Ancient China
You and your team will complete a Venn Diagram that illustrates the similarities and/or differences between ancient Greece and ancient China.
Part II
After the completion of the Venn Diagram, each team will create a presentation board or a PowerPoint presentation that shows the comparison between Ancient Greece and Ancient China of their assigned part.

Each group will then present their presentation to their fellow citizens and Greek government.
Part III
After all the teams have made their presentation, you will each write a one-page letter to your government. In your letter, you will discuss whether you want to adopt the lifestyle of the Chinese civilization or keep things the way they are in your Greek civilization. You will explain which civilization has better agriculture, government, religion (philosophy), career/jobs, and technology and give your reasoning. You must give examples to support whether you want to keep or change the agriculture, cuisine, government, religion (philosophy), career/jobs, and technology of your civilization. You can choose to keep all parts of Greek civilization, adopt all parts of Chinese civilization, or pick and choose certain parts that you want to keep or change.
