In this WebQuest you will be given an opportunity to investigate a variety of ways in which people have been affected by a volcano. You will choose a specific volcano and its region and prepare a multimedia documentary about the variety of ways people have been affected by this volcano.

Teacher Introduction

The eruption of a volcano can be a spectacular, but dangerous and deadly event.  Yet people have chosen to live on and around volcanoes throughout history.  In addition to providing people with rich soil, many volcanoes are located in some of the world's most beautiful surroundings.   In this project, you will research how volcanoes have affected the people living in a volcanic region.

Students will assume the role of a documentary film maker investigating the variety of ways in which people have been affected by volcanoes.  They will choose a specific volcano and its region and prepare a documentary about the volcano and life within its shadow to present to Discovery Channel producers.
