Process

1. First you will be assigned a partner.
2. You and your partner will each print a copy of the Partner's Checklist to complete as you work through your tasks. *Click the red X at the top right of the checklist to return to this page.
3. Print one copy of the Saving Georgia's Habitats Rubric to guide you and your partner as you complete the WebQuest. *Click the red X at the top right of the rubric to return to this page.
4. Each one of you will get a copy of the Region Notes from your teacher. You and your partner will read the resource pages and make notes on the features, plants, and animals of each of the five regions of Georgia. **After you have read and recorded the information on a region, you will have to click the red X at the top right of each region page to return to this page.
- Mountain Region
- Piedmont Region
- Coastal Plains
- Atlantic Ocean
- Okefenokee Swamp
- Georgia Wildlife
- Plants and Animals
5. Discuss with your partner your favorite region and together decide on one region that will be the focus of your investigation. Complete this information on your chosen region.
- Identify 3 plants or animals that could be effected by the changing habitats.
- What conditions could be causing a change in the habitats?
- What will happen to the plants and animals if the change continues?
6. You and your partner will decide which one of you will choose a healthy environment and which of you will choose an unhealthy environment.
7. Using what you and your partner have discovered from your research and notes, you will compare and contrast a healthy and unhealthy environment, using a web graphic organizer.
8. You and your partner will use your notes and graphic organizers to create a five or more paragraph report, using Microsoft Word, that shows your findings and suggest three ways to stop the change that is affecting the environment of your region.
9. You and your partner will create a colorful poster of your chosen region that shows the region's plants and animals in a healthy habitat. The poster will be included in your presentation.
10. You and your partner will present a 3 - 5 minute oral report to share your findings and solutions and to persuade the other scientist in our class to take action to save the habitats of this region of Georgia.
