Nursing students will encounter many patients with Type 2 Diabetes during their careers. This WebQuest asks the nursing student to develop a teaching plan for a patient with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Teacher Introduction
I have been a registered nurse for 25 years and have been a nursing professor for 8 years. The number of Type 2 diabetics that I am encountering is staggering! My students must have a good understanding of this disease and how to present the information to their patients in an easy to understand manner. This WebQuest will be used for LPNs who are returning to school to become an RN. While LPNs participate in patient teaching, they do not develop the teaching plan, so this WebQuest will assist them in how to develop a teaching plan as well as ensure they know the important information about Type 2 diabetes.
