Depending on computer availibility and time allowed to work in groups this may take 1-2 weeks to gather information and write journals. Depending on class size time also needs to be given for class presentations.If the majority of the students have computers at home they could be given the option to work outside of class gathering accurate information about this period of time during the eruption. They could then meet in groups and share what they learned to develop their journals.
