Teacher Process

The WebQuest could be incorporated into a lesson that could be one day or a few weeks.  The lesson would depend on how long the teacher would want to spend on the life cycle of a butterfly.  The teacher could use this as one example of many life cycles with animals.  The teacher might want to discuss other life cycles like frogs, bees and others.  The teacher could also incorporate this WebQuest into a lesson where the class is actually observing a real-life example of the butterfly life cycle.

However, for this particular lesson, I would use this WebQuest as part of a science lesson for my students.  The week's lesson would be about different life cycles of different animals.  I would use the WebQuest for a particular day and have the students work on the WebQuest for approximately 40 minutes.  I would have the students get the first two steps completed on one day and on the second day I would have the students create the brochure.
