Teacher Process
This webquest could take anywhere from one day to a week, depending on how long you wish to focus on the unit, and it depends on the interst of the students. Access to the different organisms to represent the stages of the life cycle, like an egg, cocoon, caterpillar, and butterfly would be helpful to show the students what the different stages look like. Pictures would probably work just as well. If you have access to a cocoon, the students would enjoy watching the butterfly emerge from the cocoon. The students should have access to either Microsoft Word or Excel to create a chart to organize their observations. The students also need access to a variety of materials to create their poster, which should show their understanding of the life cycle.
