Process

Steps:

  1. Think about your character.  What do they do?  What does their job involve?  Where do they go to do their job?
  2. Next, find your information.  You may use the books in the classroom, books from the public and school library, links on the school website under student page (look for “St. Louis Community”), listening centers, visual centers (short video), tactile (remembering things you have done and places you have gone in the past to share about your community) and any other information that you may have to help you on your journey.
  3. Then, write your information in your red journal.  Be sure to write down the source from where your information came.
  4. Collaborate with your group members by making our circle discussion group.  You get to be teacher!  Teach your group about your new information.

Your job is to create a travel book for the Chamber of Commerce so they may show people all over the world the great place of St. Louis.  Your book must include a clever alliteration cover and a picture of St. Louis.   The inside must include all four investigative jobs and the research you have found.  Each person will be responsible to share their own ideas with the other group members.  Please feel free to help each other.  You do not ONLY have to do your job, but you may help in others jobs too!

Be creative and persuasive!  Remember to add color and have excitement in your facts.  You REALLY want others to come to your great home of St. Louis!
