Day 1

Team up and choose one of the following characters. You can be:

Once everybody has chosen a role, each one of you will have to create a story for your character and also learn about what the real characters must have been like. Follow this process:

Day 2 

You will learn about Captain Cook's Endeavour and how the boat got to New Zealand. Next, you will have to reconstruct the moments of the arrival and shipping of the boat in New Zealand. Use the Endeavour Template and the Story Template 1 (Doctor, Sailor/Explorer) or Story Template 2 (Maori) to organise your thoughts.

Day 3  

You will team up with your partners. First, you will put in common all the information about Captain Cook and the Endeavour you have gathered. Second, every one of you will tell the story from his point of view. Use the Individual Presentation Template to avaluate your friends’ stories. Feel free to ask them any questions you like about their characters.    

Day 4  

In your team again, think of ways to introduce your stories and the information about Captain Cook’s journey in the class wiki. Take into account that the information you include in the wiki will be read and avaluated by your classmates. Include some pictures that make it easier to understand.

 

Day 5

Look at the Wiki and avaluate the work your partners have introduced. Use the Wiki Rubric. Next, start preparing a Power Point Presentation for next day including the three stories. Since your partners in the class will evaluate your presentation, make sure it is attractive and relevant enough.    

Day  6 

You will present the Power Point to the rest of the class. Use the Oral Presentation Rubric to avaluate your partners.
