This is a webquest for a 4th-6th grade English class that is doing a unit on Great Britain. As a closing activity for the unit, students will divide into groups and each group will research a British holiday. On the last day of the unit, groups will present on their holiday and bring food/activities/music for a British-themed party.

Introduction

You know the history behind American holidays like Thanksgiving (pilgrims and Native Americans) and the decorations that are used on holidays like Christmas (pine trees, ornaments).  What about the significance of holidays celebrated in another country like Great Britain?  Ever heard of Boxing Day or Guy Fawkes Day?  At the end of our unit you will know all about these holidays, and even get to try some foods and activities!
