Movie Maker WebQuest: Teacher Introduction

Teacher Introduction

This webquest was created by Lydia Rajsz, Mary Szoke and Rosalie Uyola for the class Using the Internet in Education.

First, learners will research one type of technology. Next, the learners will synthesize their research by creating a storyboard and MovieMaker presentation within collaborative learning groups. Finally, the learners will present their research as a MovieMaker presentation to the rest of the class via proxima (projector).

We created this lesson for five reasons:

To introduce the MovieMaker software as part of classroom technology integration.
To familiarize students with on-line research and use of credible sites as sources.
To motivate students to interpret and connect with their peers’ ideas during collaborative work.
To lead students into a synthesis of numerous web research sites with different formats.
To provide learners with an opportunity to practice presenting in front of an audience.
