Process

1. Each student picks one country to explore and develops the itinerary for three cities. The trip will last for a week in each country beginning in England and ending in Italy.  The itinerary must include the mode of transportation, places to eat, entertainment/sight-seeing, living accomadations, and a budget.  A total of $6500 has been alloted for each person to spend on this vacation.  $2000 may be spent on air travel to and from Europe, while only $1500 may be spent per country. 2. Create an itinerary for each city and enter costs into a budget spreadsheet.  Discuss plans with the group and compile a cohesive group itinerary and budget. Below is a template for the budget.  Copy and paste this template into excel to keep track of the travel budget.

*Note: All prices will be in Euros.  This table is easy to use in Microsoft Excel.  List everything in euros in the table (format the cells for currency: Euros) and then convert the Total for Country (Euros) to Total in Dollars by multiplying the Euro amount by 1.3134 to find the dollar amount because that is the current exchange rate as of 02/21/07.

3.  Utilizing the group itinerary, create a powerpoint of the travel plans to present to the class.
