Students will divide into groups and create brochures for states in the upper Midwest. Each student will be responsible for looking up an aspect of their particular state and reporting their information back to the group. Students will report back to the class what they have learned in a presentation of their brochure.

Teacher Introduction

Fellow Teachers,

Growing up and being a pre-service teacher in the upper Mid-West, I've come to realize that most people outside of the Mid-West have little or no appreciation for what we contribute to the rest of the world.  I feel that it is important for students to have a sense of pride in living in growing up in the Mid-West.

Although we don't have the cultural or ethnic diversity that is seen in other parts of the country, I think it is important that our students realize that we do have a culture and tradition in the Mid-West.

Through this WebQuest, students cna gain an appreciation for the Mid-Western way of life and discover that we do play a critical role in how our country and world function from day to day.

 Thanks,
