Teacher Process
This WebQuest will probably take a week to complete, depending on your class size and period length.
Step 1. takes place in a computer lab in one class period. Guide your students to read the rubric before they begin researching the websites so they will know their assessment.
Step 2. takes place in your classroom, during one or two class sessions. You will need to group your students into collaborative teams. You will need to assign a responsible student to be a project manager for each group. Provide students with paper and pens/pencils to sketch a storyboard of the presentation. Remind students to follow the rubric requirements. Encourage groups to share responsibility for work and to work collaboratively in design and content of presentation.
Step 3. takes place in the computer lab, during three class session or more, depending on your class size. Facilitate students by circulating the lab for technical support. Remind learners to save MovieMaker projects properly to avoid loss of audio and image files. Use a rubric to evaluate the finished presentations.
Step 4. takes place in a computer lab in one class period, depending on your class size. Use the rubric to evaluate the presentations. Remind the learners that they should have their storyboards in front of them to visually guide them through the presentation as they present to the class. Connect the Proxima (projector) to the computer from which the class will view the MovieMaker presentations. Remind students to be professional while others are presenting.
