Standards

Information Literacy Standards:

  1. Standard 1: The student who is information literate accesses information efficiently and effectively.
  2. Standard 2: The student who is information literate evaluates information critically and competently.
  3. Standard 3: The student who is information literate uses information accurately and creatively.

     

Hawaii Content and Performance Standard:

  1. SC4.1.1 SC4.1.1 Scientific Inquiry: Describe a testable hypothesis and experimental procedure.
  2. SC 4.5.3 Unity and Diversity: Describe how different organisms need specific environmental conditions to survive. 
  3. LA 4.2.1 Use print and online resources to clarify meaning and usage.
  4. LA 4.6.1 Discussion and Presentation. Participate in grade-appropriate oral group activities.  

ISTE National Educational Technology Standards:

  1.  Use technology resources (e.g., calculators, data collection probes, videos, educational software) for problem solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities. (5)
  2. Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, Web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)
  3. Use telecommunications and online resources (e.g., e-mail, online discussions, Web environments) to participate in collaborative problem-solving activities for the purpose of developing solutions or products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (4, 5)
