Teacher Process
Anticipatory Set (10 minutes)
- Have the Prince Kuhio Plaza Website on a projector screen as the students walk into class. This will get their brains going about why it is on the screen.
- As class begins ask students what their favorite stores are in the mall. Have them partner share their answers.
- After sharing ask for a few volunteers to share answers.
- Ask them to answer if they know what types of products the company sells, the type of In-store retailer it is, and non-store option.
- This then leads into the introduction of the project.
Introduce Project (30 minutes)
- Break students up into groups of 3 or 4.
- Switch screen to webquest student page.
- Go through the introduction of the assignment to clarify things.
- Guide students through the steps and ask for questions.
- Go over grading rubrics.
Work Days (225 minutes or three class days)
- Allow students workdays in school to work as a team to complete tasks.
- Outside work may be needed when going to actual shopping complex to do further information gathering.
Presentation (75 minutes)
- Group presentation to audience
- Question and answer period
