This WebQuest develops a working knowledge of the many roles required to produce a television newscast. The learner will identify key job descriptions and their respective roles and responsibilities.
Teacher Introduction
This WebQuest, entitled Broadcast News, is intended for beginning television production or jounalism students, however it can be utilized by anyone with a desire to learn the process of creating a television news show. Broadcast News is designed in two parts. Part 1 requires students to conduct research, primarily through the Internet, to identify the roles and responsibilities of professionals working in the television news industry. In Part 2, students develop both product and content (a publication and video) from the research they have collected. This WebQuest is designed to help learners use technology in a guided, yet collaborative learning environment, to gain new knowledge.
