AN UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND IN NEW YORK
Teacher Process
This WebQuest will develop over five hours:
three in the computer room and two in the classroom.
It is a single disciplinary work and involves one class, although it
could also be extended to other subjects such as Geography, History and Art.
Students work in groups of 4 and they are free to choose who they want
to work with. They work on their own, while the teacher monitors them and helps
them only if he/ she 's asked to.
Make sure that students have at least two hours to organise and plan
their oral presentation.
Suggestions:
Lesson 1: students divide into groups and start thinking about
what they would like to do in
New York. After that, they surf the internet to get an overview and find general information.
Lesson 2: students look up for more detailed information and
start up planning the activities for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Lesson 3: in this phase students can browse the net to find
extra information and pictures to add to their presentation.
Lesson 4: in class students will organise their material in
order to make an exciting work and rehearse their oral presentation.
Lesson 5: time’s up! Students will present their projects and
vote the most original one.
In order to make the work even more appealing you could organize some prizes to
be won: books, sweets, magazines...
