Teacher Process

Depending on the amount of out of class reading, this WebQuest  and novel completion should take around three weeks. The differientiation occurs with the amount of out of class reading due to the complexity of the concepts. The intercalary chapters (ones that discuss Steinbeck's personal views on his themes) should be read aloud in class if your class makeup not honors. I would do this initially and then allow them to analyze the remaining intercalary chapter on their own so that they can work on analytical skills independently.

The WebQuest activities lend themselves to individual, partner, and group work. This can vary depending on your class makeup.
