This WebQuest will ask students to analyze existing anti-bullying programs, evaluate their merits and justify which program they suggest the school adopt.

Teacher Introduction

Last year, we produced a student bullying survey to find out what our students thought about bullying at our school.  We are a K-8 school with approximately 500 students.  We handed the surveys out to the students in grades 3-8 and tabulated the results.  They were shocking.  72% of boys and 68% of girls reported that they had been the victims of bullying.  Even more disturbing, was that the number of students who were bullied equaled the number of students doing the bullying by the time they reached grade 8.  This indicated that kids respond to bullying by learning how to bully back themselves.  The light at the end of the tunnel, was that 90% of the students surveyed wanted to help put an end to bullying.  This WebQuest was designed to empower the students to come up with their own way to help put an end to this bullying problem.
