What is a Logarithmic Scale? When and how do we use them? Who initially benefits from knowing them?
Teacher Introduction
The Logarithmic scales are very important scales used in the real world, but students may not realize this. Through this project, the students will research what logarithmic scales are and how they are used in the world. In addition, I would like them to understand the meaning of the scales.
Math textbooks I have used deal with logarithmic scales very lightly. And they put heavy emphasis on the laws of operations and how to solve problems of logarithmic situations. So I want my students to get a feeling for the actual meanings of the logarithmic scale.
