This Webquest will engage students in exploring active volcanoes in different parts of the world. They will also have to compare the effects of volcanic eruption in different place and evaluate how areas in avtive zones could be managed.

Teacher Introduction

 

Learning methods include:
Building, Oral Presentation of Research, & Peer Evaluation
 
Students will work in groups of five;
 
 
Students will use the strengths or skills of each individual in each group to make their project successful.
 
 
Groups will be provided with materials, books, and the internet and asked to build or label an active volcano
Provisions to enhance /aid exceptional students in each group
1.Volcano:
Build a volcano and make it erupt
2.Effects:
Draw/construct comparative graphs to show effect on population growth
Explain how countries can plan for volcanic disasters
3.Map Work:
Insert active volcanoes on outline map

Students will also research and pinpoint active volcano locations in different regions of the world with maps. 
 
 
 
We will conclude with Presentation, Peer Review, and Feedback.
