Standards
Even though math history is not directly addressed in Utah's core curriculum it is mentioned in the course description for geometry that the class intends to make meaningful connections to life's experiences. This exercise helps do that.
Utah's World Civilization core standards addressed in this exercise are as follows:
- Standard 1- Objective 3 - Item b: Investigate the technological advancements and writing systems that developed in early cultures
- Standard 2 - Objective 4 - Item a: Examine the importance and influence of Greco-Roman art and architecture
- Standard 3 - Objective 2: Assess the influence of advancing technologies on the development of societies.
