Teacher Process
This is a short, one week or less, Web Quest that can very easily be enhanced by adding additional types of traditional (Diamante, Free Verse, etc) and not so traditional, forms of poetry (ABC poems, Color poems, etc). Obviously, this assignment works best if every student has a computer available, but it can also be easily adapted to suit buddies, or small cooperative groups. If only one or just a few computers are available, the teacher can print all the information and worksheets and then the students can share the informational packet and brainstorm ideas for the different types of poems. Each individual student can then write their own original poems, keep and maintain their own poetry folder and create their own poetry book.
