·        Read and print the informational packet that explains about the different types of poems and gives examples of each.

 

·        Read and print examples of cinquains and acrostic poems from Mrs. McGowan’s class in Spring Lake, New Jersey.

·        Print your poems on the poetry worksheets, and as you work remember to refer to the poetry information packet that you printed.

 

·        Edit and revise your poems; use addition paper if needed.

 

·        Conference with the teacher.

 

·        Using the blank templates supplied, neatly rewrite and illustrate your poems.

 

·        Use construction paper to design/illustrate a front and back cover for your poetry book.

 

·        Keep all worksheets and poetry information in your poetry folder.
