Enthusiastic About Edison
Learners
This specific webquest was designed to introduce primary students to the "Wizard of Menlo Park"; Thomas Alva Edison. This webquest was created for a fourth grade class that has prior knowledge with the creation of data disks. However, this webquest can definitely be used with fifth and sixth grade students and also can be used by students who have never completed a data disk. The student and teacher processes of the webquest provide information on what a data disk is and how to create one. This webquest can be conducted with a large or small class. Ideally, you should have enough students so that you can have them work in collaborative groups. Since this webquest was designed for groups of four students, it may be necessary to add additional role tasks if you have more than four students in a group. This webquest integrates science and language arts. The content and activities of this webquest are based off of the Pennsylvania State Standards for Science and Technology and Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
