Teacher Process

Class #1

  1. Introduce the video to students. Provide them with paper and pencil so that they may write down the name of three of the provinces/territories in order of preference for their project. 
  2. Watch the video, collect student choices.
  3. After class, review their choices and determine student teams and provinces. Students will be working together for 10-12 weeks so be thoughtful about partners.

Class #2

  1. Inform students of their partner and their assigned province or territory.
  2. Introduce the idea of a webquest.
  3. Open the webquest site and begin looking at the task.
  4. Pass out the note taking handout and review with students.
  5. Review the rubric with students.
  6. Create work folders on computers or on network as available.
Clases #3-6
  1. Review the Process with students.
  2. Give a guideline in terms of assembling data. Students should assemble two slides worth of data per class.
  3. Review the requirements for citing sources.
  4. Students begin assembling their information for each slide, noting sources.
Classes #7-8
  1. Review the elements of an effective PowerPoint presentation with students.
  2. Review basic PowerPoint commands and tools.
  3. Give students a guideline in terms of entering data. Students should complete three slides per class.
  4. Students begin entering their data into PowerPoint.
Classes #9-10
  1. Review the elements of an effective oral presentation with students.
  2. Students present.
