This webquest is intended for students aspiring to be an Information Technology Specialist. However, it could also be used in many different educational settings. In this webquest, students will assume the roll of an IT professional and bring communications services to their small/mid size business. Students will be required to write a report, deliver a presentation, and document their research.
Teacher Introduction
Purpose: Research has show that the best way for students to retain information (over 90%) is by teaching the topic. In order to teach a topic, one must master the content and take responsibility for learning it. Students that move from the roll of learner to instructor will find the challenge rewarding.
Be careful not to let the students use you as a crutch. You should offer as little help as possible. Make sure they study the rubric so they understand what is expected of them. Also, have them read the webquest throughly before beginning. Have the extract exactly what they must accomplish.
Remember, students can be grouped when doing research, but all of them should create their own PowerPoint and paper.
