Teacher Introduction
This webquest is intented for middle school students in the visual arts. But it can be easily adapted to the high school level. The goal of this webquest is to teach students the process of Stop-Motion Animation and/or Clay Animation. The subject matter of the films is a matter of your discretion, however, I have tried several different things and have had the most success with the one described in this webquest. This project requires about 3 - 4 weeks and is a little labor intensive, but extremely rewarding, especially for the kids. It has become "The Project" the students look forward to the most in my class. We have even started our own film festival to showcase the films to the entire student body, which has been really successful and something everyone looks forward to in both the Fall and the Spring. Set high expectations for your students with this project and you will be pleasantly surprised! I hope you enjoy the same success we have.
