This webquest is designed for kids to learn more about a specific microorganism. As a group, students will then use this knowledge to create a fictional children's book with age appropriate terms that teaches a younger child about the mircoorganism.

Teacher Introduction

This lesson was created as a follow up or end of unit activity for a sixth grade science class, who already know the basics about harmful and helpful microorganisms.  It is a great way to check for understanding concerning the way mircroorgansims are spread and what can be done to prevent exposure.  It also provides an opportunity for students to learn about a specific microorganism that may have an effect on them.
