Teacher Process
For the first step, you may let the students discuss the issue and brainstorm about it in class (as groups) or you may create a blog and ask them to post their comments about the issue and start the debate as a class.
For the second step, you may ask the students to do the same: post on the same blog what they have learnt through their first search on the issue. If not, you can stimulate a whole class discussion about their search on the internet.
For the third step, you may ask the students why they have chosen the particular role and what they are expecting to gain through the process of becoming an expert. Again, it can be done by conducting a whole-class discussion or by having the students post on the same blog.
For the fourth step, when they complete their search and become experts of the roles they have taken, you may let them discuss it with their classmates and get ready for their report.
For the fifth step, you just sit back and see the outcomes of the webquest. It is the most enjoyable and exciting part for the teacher to see how his/her students complete the task successfully.
Do not forget to praise student work and provide support whenever possible. It is important to stimulate their motivation to have them be willing to improve both in the content area and especially in the foreign language.
