Teacher Process

This webquest will probably take three days to complete, depending on your class size and period length.

Step 1. takes place in a computer lab in one or two class periods. Guide your students to read the rubric before they begin researching the websites so they know what they'll be accountable for.

Step 2. takes place in your classroom, during one class session or less. You will need to group your students according to the four expert areas. You will need to assign a responsible student to lead each group. Provide timers for learners to practice their interview. Engage the students about following the rubric requirements. Encourage groups to cover a variety of topics in their area.

Step 3. takes place in your classroom, during one class session or more, depending on your class size. Use a rubric and a timer with a beeper as you evaluate the interviews. Keep the interviews moving along, so interest doesn't lag. Remind the learners that they should have a sheet of paper in front of them, and they should be recording one interesting item per interview. This sheet will be the first page of their reading response journal for Things Fall Apart.
