This WebQuest has been designed to help learners develop an understanding of the basics of business ethics; key ethical theories; and issues of insider trading, fraud, corporate responsibility, outsourcing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Rationale for Instruction:
Following the aftermath of a number of corporate scandals, business ethics has become an increasingly vital issue. Today’s business people are required to make more informed ethical decisions on a daily basis. Developing an understanding of fundamental ethical principles as well as establishing an ethical mindset in students has become a goal of business educators.
This WebQuest can be used with high school through college level learners and will be best placed within a business curriculum. During the course of this project students will work in groups to complete a series of guiding questions as well as view and analyze a popular feature film that portrays one or more relevant ethical issues. The students will apply their knowledge through the creation of a PowerPoint presentation that they will share with the class. Additionally, students will complete an online survey where they reflect upon the results.
