Process

1. First you'll be assigned to a team of 4 students. Each team will draw their topic to study from a hat.
The topics to study include: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, ground water, surface run off, and West Valley Water Supply

2. Once you've chosen your topic, from the hat, your team will work together to create a poster. On your poster there needs to be three things.
A) The definition of the term
B) A real life example
C) An illustration

To complete these three tasks you will need to work together to view the following websites.
Earth Floor Cycles (Water Cycle)

Water Cycle Explorer

Water Cycle

3. Now that your team has completed your poster for the classroom, you will work together to teach the entire class about the water cycle topic you studied. (Each presentation should last about 5 minutes).

Each person will need to take notes about the water cycle as your classmates present their information. Take notes to help keep track of important information about the water cycle.

4. Using your notes, work in your small groups to create your book. As a team brainstorm ideas for the plot, then the writer will write the story. The illustrator will create illustrations for the book, and include a diagram of the water cycle. Finally, the editor will edit and revise the book for any errors. You should have your head editor (the teacher) check your book one last time before you put it all togeter. Once your team is sure the book is mistake free, then work as a team to make the story into a book. The book must contain the following elements:

A) Cover with a Title, and the names of your group members
B) The story you have written with your group
C) Illustrations that go along with the story
D) A labeled drawing of the water cycle on the back cover

5. Show your head editor the completed book. Your editor will then staple or bind your books.

 6. Your team will present your book to a group of younger students. You will also need to answer any questions the students may have about the water cycle.

7. Finally, each person will need to fill out an evaluation of how well you and your group members worked on this project.
