Process

The Process

1.  Meet the animals of the rainforest.   Click below on the layer of the rainforest that you have been assigned.  Read about the animals living in that layer.  Choose one animal to research. Fill in the "Hide and Seek" information sheet for that animal.

2.  Draw a picture of your animal or find a picture on the internet to add to your "Hide and Seek information.  Remember to include lots of details.  Cut out or print your animal and "HIDE" it on the rainforest mural in the classroom.

3.  Find 5 interesting facts about rain forests and copy them down to share with the class.  Do not pick the first 5 because every student will have the same information.  Find something interesting to you.  An excellent site is Leslie Taylor's site called "WELCOME TO MY JUNGLE

3.  Write a "WHO AM I?" riddle for your animal.  Use your "HIDE and SEEK" information sheet to help you write your riddle.  Your clues should include information special to your animal.

4.    We will end our unit on the rainforest with a rain forest celebration.  You will read your riddle and play "HIDE AND SEEK" in the rainforest.  Make sure to practice reading your riddle before you share it with the class.   You and your classmates will have an opportunity to try and find each other's animals on the class mural based on your riddles.
