Process

These are the steps you will follow to complete your project:

First divide into teams of two.

I. RESEARCH AND GAME BOARD CREATION

A.     Visit each of the sites noted above and visit at least ONE of the search engines. From your search engine your team must visit at least FIVE sites. You need to collect all the information you can that you can use to make questions (and answers) for your game board.  Use the index cards provided by your teacher.

B.     Using Microsoft Word write up TEN questions on one page. The write the answers on another page. Make your question and answer typing not more than 4 inches long and 2 inches high. Oh, be sure you know which answer goes to which question!

C.     Use a piece of cardboard 10 inches by 20 inches to be your game board.

D.     Using your pencil punch 10 holes down one LONG side and ten holes down the other  LONG side. Put brads supplied by your teacher through the holes

E.     Now you can cut your questions apart and paste your questions next to the left hand side of brads.

F     Do the same with your answers and paste them along the right hand side next to the brads. Make sure you mix the answers up! Do not have the answer to question one next to it with the first brad on the right.

G.     Now turn your game board over and use the wire supplied by your teacher to connect the brads on the back of your board. You want to connect the brad of the question with the brad of that question’s answer. Be sure that if the wire you are using is not insulated (definition) that it does not touch another wire! You may need to use tape to separate your wires.

H.    Okay, the hard part is done! Now take a nail, connect a 12” wire to it and connect the other end of the wire to a battery. From the other end of  the battery connect a 6” wire to the light bulb. From the other side of the light bulb connect another 12” wire to a second nail. These two nails are your magic wands!  Check your wand by touching the two nails together. Your light should light up. Now check your game board by touching one wand to a question brad and one wand to that question’s answer brad. Your light should light up again! Try a wrong answer to that same question. Your light should NOT light up! If there is a problem you need to go back to step 8 and retrace your wires.

II. Play the game

A.Now find another team and give them your game board and you get their game board. See how many questions you can get right. Uh-Oh, no peeking at the back of their board!!!

III. Write paper

Now write a one page paper on what you have learned about electricity. Please include everything you can think of. Be sure to touch on history, circuits, batteries, wire, insulators, switches and conductors and static electricity.
