Process

  1. To earn your first piece of the map, you must familiarize yourself with what the seven tangram pieces look like. Follow these instructions to make these shapes. Experiment by making different pictures with all seven pieces. Hit the back button to return to Step #2.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS! You've earned your first piece of the map.  Now, to earn the second piece of the map, you will need to practice working with tangram pieces.  Click on the practice link and use your tangram pieces to make at least three of the pictures.

  1. YOU'RE ON A ROLL!  You now have two pieces of the map.  To earn your third piece, create your own picture using all your tangram pieces that you made in Step #1.  Now glue your pieces down on a piece of construction paper.  Remember no pieces can overlap

  1. You are doing a wonderful job and are on your way to having over half of your pieces of the map!  To earn your fourth piece of the map, you will need to get a piece of lined paper and write a 1-2 paragraph story about the picture you have just created.  Make sure you use correct spelling and grammar.

  1. Terrific!  You have just 3 more pieces to go.  Now find another group and challenge them.  Can they figure out what your picture is? Share the story you wrote. Now you have your fifth piece of the map.

  1. You're almost there, just 2 more pieces!  To earn the next piece of the map, you have to talk to the other group about your story exchanging thoughts and ideas in a positive way.  Proofread the other group’s paper for spelling, grammar and punctuation.

  1. Awesome!   Now that you're a pro, one more tangram practice and you have the last piece.

  1. Put together the pieces of the treasure map to see where they lead you!
