The Process
To help you & a partner write an original fairytale, and to help the writers finish their book, follow the day-by-day schedule.
Days 1 & 2
The more you read, the more you know. You and your partner will use the following links to read fairytales online. The more fairytales you read, the more you'll begin to understand them. The more you understand them, the easier it will be for you to write your own fairytale. You and your partner are expected to take turns reading the fairytales below.
Day 3
Print out and complete the organizer by filling in 8 fairytale titles you read over the past two days. (You may need to revisit some of the fairy tales you read.) Work with your partner to discuss what you need to put in each of the organizer cells. Turn this in when it is complete. Each group will turn in a completed organizer.
Days 4-5
Print out and complete the story outline by filling in your ideas for an original fairytale. This story outline is your planning sheet. It will be turned in with your final draft. Use your story outline to write your own fairytale. You will revise, edit and write your final draft.
