Teacher Introduction

This unit was originally created to prepare our 8th grade students for their trip to Washington, D.C. and a visit to the Hocaust Museum.  We felt that it was important for the students to have some knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust before entering the museum.  Through the years, the students have gained a tremendous amount of understanding and compassion and the trip has become the additional part of the learning process.  They feel connected to "their" concentration camps and are anxious to learn more of this period of time.

This project does require the use of computers and access to the internet.  To allow enough time for research and compiling of the diary entries you will need 1-2 weeks.  The display board and the powerpoint will also take another week.  Time requirements will vary depending on the students.
