Process
Pick a country that you want to study.
You are going to create a PowerPoint presentation.
These will be the required slides:
- Map
- Capital and other major cities
- Weather
- National Landmarks
- Currency
- Flag
- National Anthem
- Language
Then you can pick three optional items to place on your powerpoint.
- Arts and Architecture
- Customs and Traditions
- Food
- Transportation
- Imports/Exports
- Postage Stamps
- Wildlife
- You will need to start your slide presentation with a country title page. An interesting start to a presentation is full of imagination and detail, and makes someone excited to learn about your country.
2. Next slide should include:
- your country name
- longitude and latitude degrees
- country symbol
- the galaxy, planet, hemisphere, and continent in which your country is found.
- your name in the bottom right hand corner

3. Next slides should include:
- drawing (your own) of the flag. Accompaning the drawing should be a description of the flag, including what the symbols and colors represent. If there has been more than one flag in the country's history you need to include these as well (you do not need to draw these).
- One slide will contain the National Anthem of your country with the words typed out. You will need to hyperlink the music.
GEOGRAPHY
Mountains? Deserts? Lakes....... Just what is the geography of your country?
Cartography is another word for the making of maps. Cartographers have been making maps for thousands of years. Often mapmakers were proven wrong and their maps shown to be incorrect with later explorations. Early maps showed the world as flat! Today, with country borders changing constantly maps are needing to be remade and updated.

You will need to locate and place on a slide a geographic map labeled with bodies of water, the capital and two other major cities. It will also need a compass rose, and landforms (major rivers, lakes, mountain ranges, etc.)

Warm or cold? Rain or sunshine? Would you enjoy the climate of your country?
Would you enjoy living in your country? You know the weather (or climate) can make a place enjoyable or miserable.

Create a slide for summer and winter high and low temperatures.

Average rainfall for each of the seasons.

Today's weather in your country.

Five facts about the current weather conditions in the capital of your country. The weather conditions must be for the current week.
Vital Statistics
Vital statistics slide will be next. This tells the reader about the facts of the country. Don't give lengthy information, just the basic.
- Population - life expectancy
- Area
- High and low elevations
- Ethnicity (race)
- Religions
- Type of government
Population, Birth, & Death rates
Can your country even vote? Just how is the political system set up?
Make a slide describing the type of government and how it works. Include pictures of current leaders. Make sure you include their names under the picture.
Language Ever wished you knew a language that no one else knew? Ever wanted to speak a foreign language? Well, here is a great chance to start.
- Find out how your country says hello, goodbye, yes, no, please, and thank you.
- Find 5-10 other words and give their English meaning.
- Place these on a slide.

Customs and traditions are often cultural celebrations. Celebrations unite a country. Celebrations sow what is valued by a country.

Find 3 celebrations unique to your country. Make sure you can tell us about the celebration.

Find 2 customs or traditions which are not celebrations but are still practiced by a majority of people in your country.
Earth Calendar.... Look for your country's name and get a list of holidays.
FOOD

Countries are often distinguished by the foods which are served. What great things are cooking in your country.

Find 3 recipes of dishes served in your country. If you cannot find the exact recipe, explain what the main ingredients are in 3 types of food served in your country.
Famous People

Who are the people everyone knows about in your country? Who do they admire? Dislike? Wish they could be?

The INSIDE:

will need to list any information about your country that would sell your country to tourists. What locations are the most attractive? Feature them. You will be a salesperson here. Other ideas, but not mandatory, might include the following:

The name of the flight company, cost of airfare, and time flight would take.

The names of 2 hotels and their nightly rates.

One car rental agency and cost of rental, which can be found in your country.

The exchange rate of the American dollar. Tell how much $100.00 would equal in your country.

For each attraction spot give a detailed paragraph.
