Part 1: Country Flag:

 

Create a flag for your country.  A country's flag show symbolism and each element in the flag represents an aspect of your country. Look at the flag of the USA below. 

 

 

What do each of the components symbolize?  Think about this as you create your flag.

Part 2:  Physical Map:

Physical Map.doc

Create a Physical Map of your country.  You will choose a current country to study along side your created country in class. Use the same latitude and longitude for your country.  Then, create a plausible physical map of your country using information from your Journey Across Time textbook.  Our access code is B4F5E38503. Part 3: - Climate Map:

 

Climate Map: Based on your country’s longitude and latitude, determine its climate zones. Use the climate region map on G8 as an example. Refer to the glossary on page 750 to clarify terms. Label the regions on your map using a color key. Include a minimum of four world climate regions.

Part 4: Political Map

Assessment:  Do you understand the flow chart? 

 

Political Map: shows where your cities, capitals, seaports, airports, and provinces OR state boundaries exist. Also, include your major roads, railways, rivers, lakes, swamps, and land forms.  Save and print out this scoring sheet  (2nd scoring sheet) for your project. You will fill it out as you work.

Next, open and fill out this CAC Graphic Organizer  for your Create-A-County Political Map . When you are done, go back to the real country GO and use both to fill out the compare-contrast Venn diagram.

Culture Compare/Contrast & Factors Affecting Culture


 During this section of the project, you will:

1. Make a culture web (remember to consider the factors that affect culture when doing this) using Inspiration or another tool of your choice. 

2. Determine your country's demographics (part 2) and graph them using xCell.  This is helpful in understanding your country's culture. 

3.  An interesting & challenging  culture project.

3. Determine your country's Social Hierarchy.  This graphic organizer helps you to understand the Social Hierarchy of the countries we have studied.  Use this information to help you create the Social Hierarchy of your Created Country.
