Process
Process 1
You are assigned to work in a group of 3 people. Each of you will have a specific task to complete. Look at the following three roles and decide who will be each of these:
- Food and Paper Goods Planner Your Grocer Website
- Party Favor Planner All4Fun Party Favors
- Game Planner Kid's Party Games

A website is provided for each group member to complete their task. The grocery and Party Favor Websites are actual shopping websites. You will get your ideas from these websites along with the needed prices and quantities, but will not actually place any real orders. All beverages will be age appropriate. Keep track of the information you need on paper. That information will be used in your group's final project (Inspiration Web/Outline).
Once you have all agreed on the number of people who will be attending the grade-level party, begin searching each of your websites to find the needed things to plan your party. Start writing down what things are needed, how many of each you need and also what the costs will be for all the items you plan to purchase as well as totals.
If you are the Game Planner, be sure the games you choose will work with the number of people at your party. Will you play all together or in smaller groups? What items will you need to play the games you have chosen? Be prepared to write a simple description of each game. Consider how much time you will have. How many games should you plan?
Begin organizing your ideas on paper and asking what your group thinks as you begin to plan your portion of the task.
Decide as a group how you will divide your budget of $500.00. You must not go over your budgeted amount.
Process 2

- Now that each of you have taken a role in the group, gone to your website to find what you will need, and started a rough draft on paper, it is time to start finalizing your plans and pulling it all together with your group.
- Meet as a group. Each of you will take turns bringing up your website and showing your teammates what you have planned. Explain how much of everything you have chosen, what the costs are or explain the games and how you will organize them.
- Give each other feedback and revise anything that you need to. Keep your budget of $500.00 in mind as you finalize your plans. Be sure the games can be explained in a short, yet clear summary for your Inspiration Web/.Outline.
Process 3

The class has learned how to use Inspiration to create a web and then convert it into an outline. Your group will now take the information that each group member has worked on and pull it all together in an Inspiration Web/Outline.
The Main idea will be the type of party you have planned. Perhaps you chose a special theme for your party.
What are the parts of your party that are important to make it a success? Will there be food, drinks, and treats, paper goods and utensils such as cups, plates, and napkins? Will there be party favors and prizes? Will there be games? The important items without being too specific yet will be your second tier of branches on your web.
The third tier of branches will get more specific. What types of food and drinks will you provide? What specific party favors and prizes will you have? What are the names of the games to be played? That information will go on the third level of your web.
The last level of branches of your web will go into details about quantities of each item, prices and totals, and short descriptions of each game.
Decide if colors, fonts, pictures or something else will help to organize and separate parts of your Inspiration Web/Outline.
Work together to proofread spelling and grammar. Help each other double check the math totals.
Work together as a team to polish up your project and make it shine when presented to the class.
