Step 1
Read all of the process steps.
You will want to know what you're looking for as you start finding out about the country. You can make a folder and save the things you find for use later.
Choose the country.
Step 2
Go to the internet and find out about the country.
Save pictures, articles, and information about the country into a folder. Remember to include the URL for your source as you find it. This may come in handy later.

Step 3
Use your word processor (Word) to record answers to the following:
Geography:
- What are the mountains, rivers, harbors, and other physical features that are important to know about this country?
- What are the most important cities in this countries and why?
- What about the geography has influenced the way the people live?
- What is the weather probably going to be in the summer, fall winter and spring?
- What countries are at the borders?
- What are the important natural resources?
- What are the important roads, trains,airports, and transportation methods used in this country?
People:
- What are the five most important historical people to this country?
- Who are current important government leaders?
- Who else is famous? (entertainers, sports figures,inventors, etc)
- What are the expected lifespans?
History:
What are the five most important historical events that a sixth grade student in this country would have to learn about when studying their own history?
- List these in the order they happened and not the order of importance.
- Then list them in the order of importance and tell why.
Economy:
- What are the two most important exports that this country produces? Why?
- List the two most important imports that this country could not survive without and tell why.
Culture:
- What do traditional costumes look like? Draw or copy/paste a picture.
- Make a breakfast, lunch,and dinner menu for a typical resuraunt that serves this country's foods.
- How has religion influenced life in this country? Answer in exactly three sentences.
- Describe the government of this country with a diagram you create.(Inspiration software)
Step 4
Use the information you have found to create a slide presentaion (Powerpoint) with the following topics:
- Slides explaining why and how the borders of this country came to exist in the current locations
- The best reasons to want to live in this country
- The worst problems faced by this country
- How the opportunities and goals of a typical sixth grade student in this country are similar and differnt than yours.
- The best reasons a tourist would want to visit this country
- A top ten list
- A bibliography of links
Hints:
- Flag and pictures from the country make powerpoint title pages more interesting.
- A single theme and transition style help the powerpoint be interesting rather than distracting.
Step 5
Create a tourist brochure with at least four pictures for an attraction in this country.
- Use a triple fold style.
- Make it informative and attractive.
- Remember that usually these include address,phone,cost information, hours of operation, etc.
