Teacher Process

Your job as a teacher is to be a guide on the side. Students are provided with all the instructions needed but that does not excuse the teacher of teaching. As a teacher your first role is to excite students about the project. Introduce the idea and get students motivated to use the skills that they already possess to create a real-world solution to a problem. Make it as real as possible for the students. As students work on the project the teacher's role is to be continually circulating around the room. Different students will need help with different parts of the WebQuest. Some might need help with the websites, others will need help with the budget, still others will need help with drawing, some may need help getting started, some may need motivation to work as a group, and some may need a simple push to work on their part of the project. Use your teaching skills to resolve these problems. If you see many students struggling with the same concept, such as the budget, area/perimeter, or drawing to scale, you may want to stop students and give a mini-lesson on that concept. When it is time for students to present their projects make it seem like a real environment. You may want to have students dress up on the day that they present so that they can feel more professional. You can make the decision as to whether you will choose a winner in the class or not.
