Students utilize library and Internet research skills, and participate in cooperative learning groups in a variety of cross-curricula lessons including: designing power points, spreadsheets, journals, posters, maps, on-line word search & criss-cross puzzles, and scavenger hunts. These activities engage student’ interest and understanding of the historical, social, economic, and political impact on the United States and globally, as a result of the Pearl Harbor attack by Japan. The students’ projects will enrich, develop understanding, increase implementation of technological strategies, and improve student achievement.

Teacher Introduction

This web quest was developed as part of the Escambia County Florida School District's Instructional Technology Division. Technology Group members produced projects that demonstrate multiple technological strategies and correlated to Florida state and national technology standards.
As teachers, we are always searching for links between the real world and our lessons. The movie industry recently began looking at the terrorist attacks of September 11th and their effects on America. The shock and awe of 911 have led many to make the connection to American's reaction to Pearl Harbor and its aftermath.
This web quest explores the events leading up to that fateful Sunday morning surprise attack, events leading up to America's involvement in WW II, and the changing social and economic role of women in the traditional family.
