Learners

This WebQuest is designed specifically for Social Studies students in California schools. However, it is an excellent resource for all students in the United States as well as the world. It addresses a little-known, yet important historical event--"the largest forced migration in US history." Social issues such as discrimination, racism, prejudice, bias, patriotism, nationalism, hysteria, justice, and freedom are integral parts of this study.

It challenges students and teachers alike to evaluate one of our country's most shameful acts.

It provides an excellent forum for critical thinking, debates, and other open discussions.

It gives students an opportunity to compare the political culture of our nation during World War II with our country's current political climate.

This WebQuest can be modified and used as early as third grade and up to the college level. It can be part of a California history, a US history, a World History, a Political Science, a Critical Thinking, or Debate forum.
