With a partner complete the following activities:
Make a handprint spider
Paint palm and four fingers of child's hand with black paint. Put hand down on paper with fingers spread to make 4 spider legs. Paint again. Turn paper around and put palm over same area, but fingers facing the opposite direction. Wipe your hands off with a baby wipe after you have finished your spider.
Create a new page to the book. Choose a new animal, draw and make a new page to add to the book.
Using the animal cards in the folder, please put the animals in the correct order and then take turns retelling the story.

Eric Carle was born on June 25, 1929.
He lived in New York until he was six.
Then his family moved to Germany.
It was hard for Eric to leave his home and his friends.
When he was young, Eric’s father took him on walks in the woods.
They looked at bugs and small animals.
Eric loved learning about nature.
