1.    Number and Operation

    1A.    Understands numbers, ways of representing numbers, relationships among numbers, and number systems.

    1B.    Understands the meanings of operations, how they relate to one another and is able to compute fluently and make reasonable estimates.

 

2.    Measurement

    2A.    Understands measurable attributes, units, and systems of units in measurement;  and uses techniques, tools, and formulas to determine measurements.

 

3.    Geometry and Spatial Sense

    3A.    Analyzes characteristics and properties of geometric shapes and develops mathematical arguments about geometric relationships.

    3B.    Specifies locations and describes spatial relationships using coordinate geometry and other representational systems.

    3C.    Applies transformation and uses symmetry to analyze mathematical situations.

    3D.    Uses visualization, spatial reasoning, and geometric modeling to solve problems.

 

4.    Patterns, Functions, and Algebra

    4A.    Understands patterns, relations, and functions.

    4B.    Uses algebraic symbols to represent, model, and analyze mathematical situations and quantitative relationships.

 

5.    Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability

    5A.    Formulates questions, collects, organizes, displays, and analyzes data in order to make decisions and predictions based on data.

    5B.    Understands and applies basic concepts of probability.
