Task
Five members will be working together as group of journalists. Your task will be to create two pages of a newsletter that discusses your topic in detail. You will be asked to share your newsletter with the rest of the class and teach your topic to them. The research you collect and the information you receive from your other classmates will give you a better understanding of the next piece of literature we will be reading: The Diary of Anne Frank
Your newsletter will include the following:
®Front page and at least one inside page
®Main feature article on your topic
®Two minor articles that give more details and information about your topic
®Graphics related to your topic
®A crossword puzzle on your topic
®A title
Each member will be responsible for:
®Researching
®Word Processing
®Adding Graphics
®Creating a Crossword Puzzle
®Contributing writing to each article
®Creating a title and theme
®Participating in an oral presentation
Together you will create and print your newsletter. You will then share it with the rest of the class.
You will be using the Internet, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher. A lesson will be given on how to use each of these tools. You might want to buy a copy of a real newspaper to use as a model.
